Sherman found the internship through PriceNet, a popular resource for Price school students seeking internships and jobs. He made it through the stages leading up to an interview. He credits his use of his past experiences in Real Estate, Strategic Planning and Urban Planning, and his ability to highlight both his skill set and his passion for urban development within Los Angeles during his interview for landing him the internship.

As an intern with the Bringing Back Broadway initiative, Sherman’s duties centered on public policy research and analysis, community outreach, economic data collections and planning, and building research for project development. To Sherman, all these things  were  beyond his expectations for the job, and kept him deeply interested. He notes that in his experience, passion has always been a positive attribute while pursuing an internship or a job.

When asked for suggestions on how students can improve at interviews, Sherman repeatedly emphasizes expressing passion towards work.  “Anyone can have a certain skill set,” he says, “but when you show that you’re passionate about improving the built environment and the Urban Planning field - people interviewing you will see that and respond to it.”
