On May 26, 2022, the Los Angeles Metro Board of Directors voted to approve the agency’s $8.8 billion budget proposal for FY23. In addition to providing funding for transit service and two new rail lines - the K Line (Crenshaw/LAX) Phase I Extension and Regional Connector project - this year’s budget proposal reflects an agency-wide commitment to improving public safety.

Sue Dexter, an urban planning and development PhD candidate in USC’s Sol Price School, won a prize of $1000 as a runner-up in a student showcase competition held by The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).
SCAG, a metropolitan planning agency that spans six Southern California counties, held the competition during its annual regional conference, which occurred in Palm Springs from May 5th to May 6th this year.

Over the past year, the METRANS K-12 Futures in Transportation (FIT) Program provided participating students from the USC Hybrid High School with various enrichment opportunities.
