METRANS conducts an extensive outreach program to disseminate research results, engage transportation stakeholders, educate the public, and influence transportation policy. Activities include:
- Conferences and workshops, providing an opportunity for faculty to explore key issues related to transportation in a metropolitan area, and to present their research findings in both academic and professional settings.
- The annual Town Hall meeting, convening goods movement stakeholders to discuss topics that are important to both industry and community alike.
- The biennial International Urban Freight Conference, which gathers freight researchers and practitioners from around the world to share research findings.
- Communications media which widely disseminate the results of all this important work to audiences throughout Southern California and beyond, allowing METRANS to be a national resource for information on solutions to metropolitan transportation problems.
