Now in her third year as an undergraduate student at USC, METRANS student worker Namitha Nixon is excited for changes ahead both at METRANS and in her own experience as a student. The California State Legislature passed a bill on Wednesday that would make qualifying state residents eligible for a $1,000 tax credit if they do not own a private vehicle. If signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, the legislation would take effect in the 2023 tax year.
