MetroFreight Recognized by Volvo Research & Educational Foundations

The VREF MetroFreight Center of Excellence (CoE) is an integral part of the METRANS Transportation Center at the University of Southern California (USC) and California State University Long Beach (CSULB). METRANS is celebrating its 20^th Anniversary throughout 2018 and recognizing the value of collaboration with those individuals and organizations vested in transportation research, policy and programs. On Thursday, October 4, 2018, an Anniversary Reception and Dinner Celebration took place at USC for 140 faculty, students and industry leaders in transportation and land use planning professions across the state of California.

During the formal dinner program, Catherine Showalter, MetroFreight Project Manager, presented a Commemorative Letter from TORBJÖRN HOLMSTRÖM, Chairman of the VREF Board, to METRANS Director Genevieve Giuliano, and Associate Director Thomas O’Brien. The congratulatory letter acknowledges the contributions of METRANS through its MetroFreight CoE as “one of the most significant and scientifically excellent members of the international academic urban freight community.”
