Please join us in welcoming METRANS Student Assistant, Joanna Haoshi Wang.  Joanna will be providing a wide range of administrative support to METRANS, including event hosting, data management, and assistance with the day to day operations of the center.

Joanna is a first year undergraduate student at the USC Price School of Public Policy studying urban planning. She brings exceptional communication, planning, organizing, and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.  Her interests include transportation, landscape architecture, urban economics and Geographic Information System (GIS). She is also an executive member of American Planning Association (APA) USC student chapter.

Born and raised in Shanghai, Joanna watched the city grow as she did.  “I saw subways, CBDs and convenience stores arise amidst the existing city, and function cohesively with historical bungalows and the traditional Shanghai Alley.  Seeing this transformation is how I first became interested in urban-related topics.” In addition to urban planning, Joanna has many interests, and has no trouble filling her spare time.  “I’m a creative cook and language lover. I am proud to say that I have a basic understanding of Greek and Japanese, and am continually improving my French. Like traveling, for me learning a language is a great way to know more about different cultures. I’m also an enthusiast of swimming, volleyball, and musicals.”

Joanna looks forward to working to with METRANS to support the activities of the center.  She can be reached at [email protected].
