Fred Chang is a junior at the University of Southern California majoring in Policy, Planning and Development and pursuing a minor in Architecture. Fred was born in Taipei but grew up in Shanghai and Beijing. Witnessing one of the world’s rising powerhouses transform from farmland to a modern metropolis in just over a decade piqued his interest in learning more about the built environment and how cities are created. Fred’s main career interests include transportation, urban design, and infrastructure.

Fred is currently working as the Lead Student Assistant for METRANS.  Prior to joining METRANS, Fred interned at the City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning, where he worked closely with the Downtown Los Angeles policy and planning division.

Fred is a social media volunteer for WTS Los Angeles, was part of the WTS Orange County Transportation Academy Class of 2014, and was selected to attend the 2014 California Transportation Foundation (CTF) Transportation Symposium. During his leisure time, Fred enjoys photography, traveling, and cycling.  Fred can be reached at [email protected].
