Home Depot shoots for 20% reduction in supply chain emissions

Home Depot sets a goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions related to its US and Canadian supply chain by 20% by 2015. A major step toward achieving the goal will be a move to a centralized distribution network rather than the mostly supplier-to-store process currently in place. More efficient routing, scheduling, and consolidation of store shipments is expected to equate to a reduction of 200 million miles driven a year.
