Missy Blair, Program Manager for Pima Community College’s Center for Transportation Training, has been named as one of the Top Women to Watch in Transportation by Women in Trucking (WIT), a national organization. The organization identified 53 women who stand out as top performers in the transportation industry.  Missy was nominated and selected because of her multi-disciplinary efforts within the College and collaboration with business and industry to upscale drivers with the advent of autonomous vehicles.

Missy has also promoted the Truck Driving industry to females of all age ranges through robust outreach efforts to local schools and promoting the industry to the adult females that visit the Center for information on the Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) program. Due to Missy and her team's efforts, the center has seen an increase in female enrollment from 8% in calendar year 2017 to 14% in calendar year 2018.

Missy not only manages the Center, but “walks the walk” in the transportation industry. She completed the Class A CDL certificate program and obtained her Class A CDL about a year after becoming the manager. She has also been a certified motorcycle rider education RiderCoach since 2006, and a traffic survival school instructor since 2013.
