Zoox is building all-electric, fully autonomous, purpose-built vehicles to cities to make transportation cleaner, safer and more enjoyable. Zoox believes that the full realization of autonomous mobility requires a vehicle that is fully designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy. The company has been working on its custom vehicle and driving systems since 2014 and is the only company to have purpose-built robotaxis driving on public roads today. This talk will focus on why this approach is different from what other companies are doing as well as discuss some of the policy challenges faced by the industry.
