The College of Professional and International Education (CPIE) is one of California State University Long Beach’s (CSULB) eight colleges and the community outreach branch of the university.  CPIE, through the Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT), offers both credit and non-credit programs related to transportation in integrated logistics and features the award-winning Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) program and the Marine Terminal Operations Professional (MTOP) designation, the only program of its kind in the country. 

The Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) program sets a professional standard for the international trade and logistics industry and provides the industry with a cadre of well educated professionals. Built upon a university/industry partnership, the GLS curriculum offers broad based, hands-on training for individuals entering work at any point of the logistics chain.

The MTOP is comprehensive training developed in collaboration with Marine Terminal Operators (MTOs). The program covers all aspects of terminal operations and increases career opportunities for individuals who either seek entry or advancement into, or conduct business in this dynamic industry. The MTOP program is taught by industry experts and structured in a modular format.

Other supply chain Management & Logistics Courses and Programs offered include the GLS for International Students; the GLS Online program; the educational series, Working and Living in a Port City; and numerous individual courses and programs.  CSULB, CITT, also offers customized and specialized training to the general public as well as to various public agencies and private organizations, including the Goods Movement Leadership Academy program.
