The CSULB College of Engineering is nationally ranked. In particular, the College is among the top 50 universities in the nation for undergraduate teaching.

Students of transportation generally choose bachelor or master’s degree programs in Aerospace Engineering,  Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringConstruction Engineering Management and Computer Science, and doctoral programs in Engineering and Industrial Applied Mathematics.   The master’s degree in Engineering Management is an on-line program offered jointly with California State University, Dominguez Hills. The Ph.D. in Engineering and Industrial Applied Mathematics is offered jointly with the Claremont Graduate University.  The College of Engineering offers certificate programs tied to the primary disciplines. These include Energy Conversion and Power Systems Engineering, and Aerospace Manufacturing.

The College of Engineering is also home to the Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) Center, a program that serves low income and educationally disadvantaged students at both the pre-college and college levels. The MESA Center comprises two distinct programs. The MESA Schools Program (MSP) partners with middle and high schools in the Los Angeles basin to prepare students to attend college in the disciplines of mathematics, engineering and science. The MESA Engineering Program (MEP) provides non-remedial academic support services to matriculated college students.
