METRANS

Each degree program in the department of economics contains a core group of theory courses, a series of quantitative skills courses, and field specialization courses that involve the applications of economic theory and quantitative analysis to major areas of study within the discipline.

Transportation students may select a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in economics. This degree prepares students for a variety of careers in business and government; and lays the foundation for teaching in elementary and secondary schools and for more advanced study in economics, law and other related fields. The Department also offers minors in economics, business economics and international economics along with a concentration in liberal studies. Major areas of specialization at the graduate level include international economics, econometrics and natural resource economics, all of which may be customized to allow for a concentration in transportation.
