The Urban Freight Platform (UFP) organized an international research seminar on urban freight. The focus of the seminar was presenting international and local urban freight research on a wide range of urban freight issues, including presentations by the international speakers Laetitia Dablanc (IFSTTAR, University of Paris-Est) and Paola Andrea Cruz Daraviña (University de los Andes, Bogota), complemented with presentations by researchers from the UFP.

MetroFreight

More than 20 MetroFreight researchers gave presentations at the 2015 International Urban Freight Conference on October 21-23, 2015, in Long Beach, California. The conference was established in 2006 and is held every two years. Organized by the METRANS Transportation Center, the purpose of I-NUF is to provide a forum for multidisciplinary research on all aspects of urban freight. The presentations are as follows:

Laetitia Dablanc, a Research Director at IFSTTAR (Paris, France), one of the core partners in CoE MetroFreight, was invited to present VREF Theme Urban Freight at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Expert Meeting on Sustainable Freight Transport, which was held in Geneva on Oct 14-16, 2015. The discussions addressed challenges and opportunities for urban freight systems, and how these can best be addressed in order to seize opportunities, particularly in developing countries' megacities.
